New adoption fee rates

The Board of Directors met to discuss the rising costs for vet care and have decided on a new
Adoption Fee scale based on the age of the dogs. These fees are effective September 1, 2007.

Puppies up to 1 year old...................................................................$250.00

Young dogs 1 year to 6 years............................................................$200.00

Senior dogs 7 years and older...........................................................$175.00

We surveyed other rescues and found their adoption fees fell into this same range. We still won't
make a profit on adoptions however this fee scale will help cover more of the expenses incurred by
Golden Years.

What type of vet expenses do we have? First and foremost are the spay/neuters, bringing dogs
current on vaccinations, screen the dog for any possible health issues, purchase heartworm
preventative, microchipping, treat heartworm positive dogs, surgeries to correct any health issue,
etc.

We make every effort to make sure any dog we put up for adoption is healthy and happy before
going to a new forever home.
