Welcome to Golden Years Alaskan Malamute Rescue's web site!
Our rescue facility is located in North Muskegon, just a few miles from Lake
Michigan. Our 10 run kennel facility is complete, and we are thrilled to provide a much nicer place for the Mals to stay while waiting for a new forever home. Facility hours are by appointment only due to shifting work schedules. Visit the "Contact us" link for more details on how to reach us.
Donations are very much appreciated and they are tax deductable to the extent
allowed by IRS laws. We do have an account with PayPal if you would like to make a donation that way. The account is: goldenyearsamr@yahoo.com |

Alleviate the financial stress associated with your pet's unexpected medical expenses and
generate funds for our shelter at the same time! Simply apply for a ShelterCare Pet Insurance Program by using the ShelterCare banner-link.
Here's how it works: ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs
essential veterinary care from an illness or injury. Also, every time a completed application for a ShelterCare program is generated through our shelter's website, we automatically receive a $25 donation to help cover common needs like blankets, toys and food. This donation is of no cost to you and provides us with essential funds. Make the right move and enroll today! |

Think Malamutes only come in a few colors? Not so. Nichole Royer from
California has done some amazing and extensive research on coat color genetics. She has a large number of pictures from folks that help show the coat colors on actual dogs. Take a look. I'll bet you never saw a "blue" Malamute before! |

Hard to believe it is now 2010! Where did the time go? Golden Years will soon be planning
out our activities for this year (The Pet Expo in Grand Rapids is already confirmed) and a full reworking of our website is in the planning stage. We'd like to thank all of our adopters and donors for their continued financial support during these tough economic times. Thank you to all of our volunteers who come out to help Shirley with the kennels. It's tough enough to take care of one or 2 dogs but 10 keep us hopping! If you'd like to come out and help with the dogs please contact Shirley via the email link below. Even one or two days a month would be wonderful as it helps to keep our dogs well socialized. Springtime always means maintenance time so having a handy man or 2 come out is so appreciated. |
