Kokomo (aka Koko)
Koko was picked up off the streets in south central Michigan a number of months
ago (summer 2007). She was being boarded for us until we had a space open up.
Koko is believed to be about 10 years old and she was in horrible shape. It looked
like she had been living on the streets for quite some time and her coat was in
pretty bad shape. She had some type of tar material stuck in her fur and had
several baths to get rid of the substance but her skin was still pretty raw in spots
especially in the rear on the left side.

When she was taken in to see a vet for spaying she was found to have pyometria
and a raging urinary tract infection. Since she's had to "hunt" for her food for so
long she is a bit food aggressive and a garbage hound. She was very, very thin
when she came in but now that she has been on a good diet her coat is in
wonderful condition and she's even more beautiful.

Koko is VERY dog aggressive and will fence fight. She will need a home with no
young children and the home would have to be a very experienced Malamute home.
She does love human attention so she'll have no shortage of that here. An ideal
home would be a retired couple (or single person) that would spoil her and make the
rest of her life a happy one.

Is Koko the dog for you?
Note: Koko is now at our kennel here in Muskegon and boy has she just blossomed
into a stunning girl. Amazing what good food and lots of love can do. Now that her
coat is all in, it turns out she is a wooly coat Mal and she has the wonderful
temperament that most woolies seem to have. These coats need a little extra
brushing but nothing too drastic. Thank you so much Janet & Alice for helping us
save this girl!
