Sam
Sam is a very beautiful sable boy who is looking for a very special home. We are assisting Sam's
current owner with the placement so all inquiries will need to be sent to the email address provided
below.

Sam was adopted from an Animal Control shelter earlier this year. He was one day away from
euthanasia when his current owner found him and adopted him. Sam is wonderful with adults and
children and loves to play and go for car rides. He walks very nicely on leash and is house trained.
Sam is not very good with other male dogs (typical traits for a malamute) and he is doing well with
the cat he lives with (if there is a cat in the new home it will need to be dog savvy). He is a talker
and has an opinion about everything. His owner got him a harness and Sam loves to pull his wagon
so he might make a good sled dog for a new family. His left eye has very unusual coloration. It is a
milky white with a splash of brown giving him a very unique look. Sam has understanding of some
of the basic obedience skills which are as follows: Sit, down, speak, shake hands. He also knows
what the words out and off mean when being told to leave a room or get off of the furniture.

Sam is a very healthy guy, current on all shots and microchipped.

Sam does have one negative quality which is the reason his owner is looking for a new home.
Since we have no background on this boy it's hard to tell what triggered this but he has a strong
case of separation anxiety. It is possible to bring an animal around but it takes a lot of training and
positive reinforcement. He has destroyed both Vari-kennel and wire crates when left alone in them.
He needs to know there is someone at least in the house with him in order to relax and not panic.
The family loves him but due to job schedules and kid schedules there is no time for the in depth
training Sam needs.

Sam's ideal home would be with a retired couple or single person that can include him in all daily
activities while slowly getting him used to being alone for short periods of time. This is his only
issue, otherwise he is just about the closest thing to a "perfect" malamute. You can contact Sam's
owner at this email address: findsamahome@hotmail.com

Note: This malamute is listed under our Owner Assistance Program. Golden
