Successful Placements

This is the best part of rescue, seeing a Mal go to a great new home.

Number of dogs placed in:

At long last, the foster finally failed.....it was just a matter of time before Wanita planted her paws permanently. She now officially lives in Mears MI with an awesome couple and their young daughter. Wanita pulls the daughter home from the bus stop on a sled...she goes to the beach quite often and goes out skijoring on the back country roads. We are so thrilled this foster "failed". Wanita became an official family member on January 23, 2010.

Brady came to us skinny as a rail and heartworm positive. Once he finished the treatment for the worms he started putting on weight and filled out into a gorgeous 100 lb boy. The couple interested in him came to visit a few times and decided this was the boy for them. As you can see Brady wasted no time in training them in the art of proper tummy rubs. Brady moved to his new home in Six Lakes MI on Feb 2, 2010.

Mallory finally found the right family who would set boundaries and not allow any shenanigans. She's settled in very nicely and is finally working through the separation anxiety issues she had. Mallory has a young boy to play with and a big area to run and loves to carry on serious conversations. As you can see she's yelling YAY!!!!! Mallory moved to Montrose MI on March 13 2010.

Thanks to the Pet Expo in April, Tika (far right) found an awesome new home! She now has 2 Siberian Husky housemates and a few senior cats too! She's found the perfect spot in her new yard where she can see everything going on What a lucky girl she is. Tika moved to Belmont MI on May 1 2010
Here are the other two Pet Expo placements. Dakota-boy (L) and Dakota-girl (R) went to the same home! The odds of two senior dogs going to the same home at the same time is almost unheard of. Dakota-girl moved in first on May 15th and Dakota-boy joined her a week later. It takes a very special person to take on a pair of Mals and we are thrilled that she adopted these two. They now live in Shelbyville MI to live out their "Golden Years" together. Their new mom is amazed at the energy level an 11 year old Mal can have (D-girl).

At last! Jackson is finally in his new forever home. Had some health issues to work through with him, but he has a clean bill of health and was very ready to hop into his new mom's SUV. He has a female Mal to play with which will hopefully keep him plenty occupied. Jackson moved in to his new home in Honor MI on July 22 2010.
