Rainbow
Rainbow came to us all the way from California in February 2002. He was an owner surrender due
to circumstances beyond his control. Rainbow had never seen snow before and didn't know what
to make of it. He played and woo'd and pushed it with his nose. Snowflakes fell and he just
watched in fascination. A few days after his arrival there was a huge snowstorm dumping over 14"
of fresh new snow. As you can see by his expression from inside his doghouse he was not too
thrilled with it anymore.

A family in Colorado saw this handsome guy on our website and decided to adopt him. Shirley
drove Rainbow to meet his new family at a hotel in Iowa. Everybody got along great and Rainbow
would even have a new playmate. It looked like a match made in Heaven.

Shortly after their arrival home Rainbow began to act in a very erratic manner. One minute he was
playful and the next he wanted to attack. After a couple of days it was determined that Rainbow
had a brain tumor and nothing could be done. His new family as well as Carol & Shirley were just
devastated at this news. Rainbow was lovingly sent to the Rainbow Bridge. He was cremated and
his ashes were scattered at a nearby state park, along the river. Rainbow is still missed by all who
knew him. His life was cut way too short but at least he got to play in the snow and was held by a
special family as he slipped peacefully away.
