Information about a very special vendor that we'd like to share

Golden Years is thrilled to tell everyone about a wonderful hair processing vendor that has done
something incredible for us! VIP Fibers is located in California (you can visit their website by
clicking on the logo above), and the owner does a lot of charitable work for various rescue groups.
We have been saving dog hair over the past few years and we had been searching for someone
to spin the hair into yarn. A friend gave us a link to VIP Fibers, and we were astonished to learn
she would process the hair we had (each rescue is limited to one processing order done free, per
year. There is a weight limit. Visit the website for more details.)We packed up a huge box of hair
and sent 38 "dogs" to CA. Carol had forgotten to take pictures of the fur before shipping it (yes
that is shocking!) She contacted Victoria and asked if they would mind taking pictures of the
process. She was kind enough to photograph the entire process so we could make a little photo
album to send with each hair item we auction. Victoria ended up using our pictures on her
website as well, sort of a photo essay.

69 ounces of fur turned into A LOT of yarn. VIP Fibers hand wove a 5' x 5' throw, a gorgeous paw
print scarf and a nice warm hat. There was still 400 yards of yarn left over, which has been
knitted into mittens and two hats for a later auction.

A huge woo woo of thanks to Victoria and her staff for their generous donation of time and talent
to provide us with the lovely yarn and the hand made items. We've already warned them we are
saving up for next year!
