Avery is a seven year old boy found as a stray in South Carolina. The shelter staff knew this boy should be saved even though
he is heartworm positive and has bad hips. Transport was arranged and he arrived in late April 2021. He's coming out of his
shell and enjoying time out in the play yard. It will be quite awhile before he will be available as heartworm treatment will take at
least six months and he has to test negative before leaving us for a new home. We do have him on meds to control the pain in
his hips so he's much happier now. Update: Avery has started his HW treatment, got his first shot Dec 1st. This process with
take six months and the poor boy will be very restricted as far as activity. Fingers crossed he's clear of worms in the six
months.

Hanna is a sweet but sassy seven year old girl who's owner passed away earlier this year. Family tried to take her in but she just
could not get along with other dogs in the homes so we were contacted. She's a very pretty girl but is horribly over weight.
Hanna looks like a coffee table with paws and that is hard on her body. She will be fully vetted to find out if there is an
underlying health issue (like hypothyroid) causing the weight issues. Sadly there will be a delay before she can be adopted.
She managed to tear her ACL in her back leg. She is going to require major surgery and a long recovery time. Trying to get
surgery scheduled
